About Us
Located just up from the Station and just outside the Market Place near the centre of Richmond, St Mary’s has been offering worship, prayer, and pastoral care for the people of Richmond and its surrounding areas for hundreds of years.
Our church is perfectly placed for all those wishing to enjoy services of any kind, from our weekly communion services (which can be found here) or a celebration service, welcoming new children, joining together in matrimony, or celebrating the life of a loved one since passed (which can be found here).
The church building is open from 8:30am until dusk, and it is a calm and quiet place to sit and be with God in whatever storms of life that are being faced. Our prayer area, just under “Ruth’s Window”, also has a prayer box beside it for anyone to leave prayer requests in. These are prayed over by a small group made up of members of our congregation on Tuesday evenings, as well as prayed over by the St Mary’s Community.
Our Church also houses the “Green Howard’s Chapel”, which commemorates the service of the Green Howards (now the Yorkshire Regiment), and features regimental banners and battle standards, as well as a Book of Remembrance that commemorates the fallen. St Mary’s is also the location for the annual service commemorating the Green Howards, which takes place every May.
All are welcome to enter through our doors – whether you are from Richmond or simply visiting, whether you are a believer or not – not only of the building itself, but of the community and congregation of St Mary’s.
