The first serving...

We really enjoyed our first serving of Café Church at 4pm on Sunday 20th September.  Fifty five of us joined together to share time together over coffee, tea and an abundance of home baking while having the privilege of listening to Bishop John Pritchard talk about being Enchanted by His company and journeying with Jesus.

Farewell Eucharist for our curate Rev Antony Kirby

The evening of Sunday 13th September was very special. Over 120 friends joined together at St Mary's Church as we held a special Farewell Eucharist to bid goodbye to our curate Rev Antony Kirby who has been with us for four years. We gave thanks for his time with us, for his encouragement, his kindness and his journeying with us.

Antony and his wife Debs were presented with gifts including a clerical waistcoat, two clerical shirts, a necklace, a cheque and a bible which has been signed by members of our congregation. We hope that when he opens the bible, seeing our signatures will remind him of his time with us, and also remind him that our prayers and love go with him and Debs as they continue their journey.

Sunday 20th September at 4pm sees the start of a brand new way of experiencing church at St Mary's. We’ll sit around cafe style tables, enjoying tea, coffee and home baking. The ‘Cafe Church’ will happen bi-monthly at 4pm in St Mary’s, and is aimed at everyone who would like to spend a relaxed and informal time of learning and fellowship together, space to ask questions if you wish, and finishing with the quiet service of compline.
