Diocese of Leeds Christmas Message 2018

It is #Christmas time again and everyone is busy buying presents, food, visiting German markets, watching pantomimes and listening to the same classic Christmas songs. Of course there are other types of Christmas songs that speak a different message. A message of hope, joy and love in the form of a baby called Jesus born in a stable over 2000 years ago. They call them Christmas carols.

In churches and chapels all across Yorkshire the great carols will be sung again this Christmas. Why don't you come and sing the great carols at your local church? Find all the times on our what's on page on this website and on our services page on this website.

Have a look at the video featuring some of our head office staff.... https://www.leeds.anglican.org/video/carols-christmas

#FollowTheStar trail competition

The Church of England’s Christmas campaign this year is #FollowtheStar.
We at St Mary’s are joining in with this by having a star trail around the town.
Starting on the 1st of December there will be 12 stars around the town and 1 In Church, each of the stars will have a letter on.
Those doing the trail will have to find all the letters then work out what it says.  Clue:  It is one of the names that Jesus is known by.
Competition forms are available in the church and in all the shops where there is a star.
The competition is open for all Children and the prize will be drawn at the 10 am Christmas Morning Service
Just look out for the stars in the windows.... Go on, #followthestar
