PLEASE NOTE - we have gazebos aplenty, access to church if it really tips down and all will be well. The BBQ will go ahead even if the weather is dodgy - if we're not on the Rectory Lawn we'll be at church. We are all invited to join in this day and to visit each of the churches in our Benefice i.e. Richmond, Hudswell, Downholme and Marske. You can stroll it all (13miles), stroll part of it, or drive yourselves to visit each or any church and experience their unique history and hospitality or you could cycle the route (Scott is aiming to set off around 2.30pm). All are welcome. There will be refreshments available in each church and experienced walkers and cyclists will be available to lead us. Please sign up at the back of the church so we can plan refreshments.
The walk will start at 8am at St Mary’s and will end back at St Mary’s by about 5pm (stopping off at Marske at 10.45am; Downholme at 12.15; Hudswell churchyard at 3pm; Holy Trinity at 5.15pm and back to St Mary’s at about 5.30pm.
We will then have a BBQ on the Rectory Lawn arranged by the Friends of St Mary’s. You don’t need to have done the walk to come to the barbecue. The more the merrier. We will use the evening BBQ to celebrate the time that Sian our ordinand has spent with us and to thank her for her contribution to our benefice. Do come along.
Tickets for the BBQ are available - £3 per person for a burger and a sausage in a bun from Claire Murray, Graham Barber and Gillian Lunn. We would love people to bring salads and puddings etc to share.
If you would like to join in with this sociable day please contact William Gedye on firstname.lastname@example.org or call him on 07710 739192 for more details of the walk. For details of the BBQ etc please keep an eye open in church for sign up sheets and tickets.
