Dear all

On behalf of the Benefice of Richmond with Hudswell and Downholme and Marske here is the invitation for the live 10am Service of the Word which will be streamed from St Mary’s church and led by Scott and Gillian with a sermon from Mark Beresford-Peirse.

You will be equally welcome to attend online or in person.

To join online the Zoom link is shown at the foot of this message; please join at any time from 9.30am. A telephone number is included alongside the video link if you would rather dial in.  (NB it says it is Benefice Communion service, but it is still the correct meeting - it's just got the wrong name!)

Before 10am, as you are admitted from the Zoom ‘Waiting Room’, your microphone will be open to enable conversation if you wish, and as the service starts your microphone will be muted for you. At the end of the service your microphone will be opened again and I do hope you will stay on for a time of fellowship.

The Rhythm of Life

The Rhythm of Life is a new initiative to help each of us to grow as disciples (i.e. not only followers but people who want to learn). It has been designed to help us develop rhythms of life which fit our changing and challenging circumstances. Inspired by monastic rules of life, it encourages us to reflect on different aspects of ‘loving, living and learning’ and to make practical fixed-term commitments, aided by recommended resources.

Further details are set out in: https://learning.leeds.anglican.org/rol/ . This is a new ‘Rhythm of Life’ page on the Diocesan Digital Learning Platform which Martin mentioned in his Message in March – when he wrote:

‘To enable us all to keep growing, our Diocese provides a Digital Learning Platform: please take the opportunity to visit https://learning.leeds.anglican.org . It features a wide range of topics and learning styles, with the Prayer and Spirituality and Lay Training sections specifically designed to help us grow in faith and in knowledge.’

In the coming weeks you will be hearing more about the Rhythm of Life, in sermons and elsewhere. As someone who reads daily a chapter from the “life-giving” Rule of St Benedict Martin wholeheartedly commends this new initiative.

Dear all

If you would like to attend in person you will be most welcome. Please observe the precautions which will be advised to you as you enter the church in order to keep yourself and others safe. In line with government advice, we are now required to wear a face covering (unless there is a reason you are unable to do so). This is primarily to protect others, not the wearer, but is not to be considered a replacement for maintaining physical distancing and care over hand hygiene.

The words of the service are attached, along with the readings are attached.  You will be able to see the words for the hymn, ‘Guide me O thou great redeemer’ on the screen even if you are Zooming in.  Chris Denton will be our organist.

Also attached is the Pew Sheet

Gillian will be preaching, and the full version of her sermon will be available as a separate Podcast on our website: https://www.richmondhudswellparish.org.uk/Latest-Resources-Podcasts .

Dear friends,

On behalf of the Benefice of Richmond with Hudswell and Downholme and Marske I would like to invite you to join our live 10am Communion Service which will be streamed from St Mary’s church. You will be equally welcome to attend online or in person.

Before 10am, as you are admitted from the Zoom ‘Waiting Room’, your microphone will be open to enable conversation if you wish, and as the service starts your microphone will be muted for you. At the end of the service your microphone will be opened again and I do hope you will stay on for a time of fellowship.
