Interactive Zoom Choral Evensong

We are very much looking forward to holding our first ever Zoom Choral Evensong this Sunday 5th July at 6.30pm.

We wish it to be as interactive as possible.  What we hope to do is use pre-recorded music that also offers a scrolling music score (with words) that we can all sing along to.  As we will all be on 'mute' there will  be no danger of anyone else hearing us!

Beneath the zoom invitation is the list of music and clips that we wish to use.  Whilst you will not need this for the service you are most welcome to have a look at what we will be singing or listening to during evensong or to use on your own at a later date.

Please spread the word and pass on the invite!  As ever, all are welcome. Please note there may be a slight delay as you wait to join the service - Zoom have introduced a new security feature!

St Mary's is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Bishop John's latest book...

Bishop John has recently had a new book published called Handbook of Christian Ministry - for lay and ordained Christians.  He has very kindly dedicated it to all his friends at St Mary's Church.  He writes  "I want to pay tribute to friends at St Mary's Church Richmond...where it's now my pleasure to worship and share in ministry".

If you would like to buy his book for a reduced price of £10 then get in touch with him via email johnlpritchard@btinternet.com or call him on 01748 850854 and he can arrange how to get it to you.

Coming up at St Mary's Church

We may not be "in church" but we can still meet up and worship together whether on Dial-In or Zoom.

This Sunday (5th July) we will have a 10am Live Zoom Communion service (invitation will follow later in the week), and at 6.30pm that evening we will have our first ever Interactive Zoom Choral Evensong - more information to follow, but watch this space.  That day we will be welcoming Paul Sunderland our new curate and his wife Jeanette.

Then, following on from the first ever Zoom Quiz, on Thursday 9th July at 7pm we will hold another Zoom Quiz this time hosted by Paul and Jeanette.  Again more information and an invite to follow - so do keep an eye on the website.

St Mary’s Church, Richmond, North Yorkshire Dial-In Services

We have set up this resource to try and reach out to those people who do not have access to computers or who may find internet access difficult.

Our aim is to hold Compline services on Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 6.30pm.

Plus you may wish to dial-in and hear the “St Mary’s Live Communion Service” which we hold at 10am on a Sunday morning.

We will try and add other services in to our package of services but we wish to start off carefully and do things as well as we can so that it is helpful to you rather than frustrating.

Services will be led by familiar voices from within the Ministry Team.

INSTRUCTIONS –

Dial: 0333 0110 946

Room number: 96619350 #

Guest PIN: 8196 #

You will hear some blurb about how much we’ve saved by using the company (it hasn’t cost us anything).  The cost of the call will be no more than a local call.

(The phone lines will be opened from approximately 15 mins before the service is due to start.  This means that you may have a wait before the start, but it may reduce the pressure to try and dial-in at exactly the right time. The service will not start before the scheduled time.)

PLEASE TRY AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION WITH THOSE WHO HAVE LITTLE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET OR WHO FIND IT TRICKY

Christian Aid Week

Every May we would normally raise approximately £3,000 around Richmond but this cannot happen in the same way this year.

Christian Aid supports some of the most vulnerable people who need our support now more than ever as coronavirus spreads across the world. An e-envelope is now available for our own donations and for us to send to as many people as possible over the next few weeks.

Please see the Christian Aid website here for more details.

Thanks from Judith Barber and the St Mary’s Christian Aid Team
