On behalf of the Benefice of Richmond with Hudswell and Downholme and Marske I would like to invite you to join our live 10am Communion Service which will be streamed from St Mary’s church. I also extend a special welcome to our friends from the Stanwick Group of churches who will again be joining us whilst their vicar Camilla and our organist Chris are on holiday with their family.
You will be equally welcome to attend online or in person.
To join online the Zoom link is shown at the foot of this message; please join at any time from 9:30am. A telephone number is included alongside the video link if you would rather dial in and we will also be joined by friends who are not online via our alternative ‘dial-in’ option.
Before 10am, as you are admitted from the Zoom ‘Waiting Room’, your microphone will be open to enable conversation if you wish, and as the service starts your microphone will be muted for you. At the end of the service your microphone will be opened again and I do hope you will stay on for a time of fellowship.
If you would like to attend in person you will be most welcome. Please observe the precautions which will be advised to you as you enter the church in order to keep yourself and others safe. In line with government advice, you should wear a face covering. This is primarily to protect others, not the wearer, but is not to be considered a replacement for maintaining physical distancing and care over hand hygiene.
The words of the service are attached, along with the readings and the hymn, ‘Jesus, where’er your people meet’. Also attached is the Pew Sheet.
Scott will be preaching, and the full version of his sermon will be available as a separate Podcast on our website: https://www.richmondhudswellparish.org.uk/Latest-Resources-Podcasts .
Fionagh Bennet will be our organist.
Regrettably, only I will be able to receive the consecrated bread and wine. However, I will do so on behalf of us all. The rest of us, whether at home or in church, will join together in making a ‘Spiritual Communion’ as summarised in the order of service.
And please don’t forget Cafe Church at 4pm – when Gillian will be our special guest! I hope you received the invitation sent out on Tuesday 28th. For your convenience the Zoom link is shown again below. I also attach the words of the hymns chosen for the occasion by Gillian, along with the order for Compline with which the service will conclude.
Café Church will be streamed from St Mary’s church and you are welcome to sign in or dial in via Zoom at any time from 3:30pm – suitably equipped with plentiful supplies of coffee and cake! Again, you will be just as welcome to attend in person, and please observe the precautions outlined above for the 10am service. As I am sure you will appreciate we are sorry not to be able to serve you with refreshments on this occasion.
May I take this opportunity to mention the range of resources available on https://www.richmondhudswellparish.org.uk/Latest-Resources-Podcasts which includes daily podcasts of Morning Prayer recorded by Scott and Gillian. Another daily event is Compline at 8pm, on Zoom. Invitations are sent each day to anyone interested in joining and if you would like to receive these please contact Gillian on email@example.com .
