Following our first ever Zoom Café Church last month (introducing Paul and Jeanette), our next event will be this coming Sunday – when our special guest will be Gillian.
It is hard to believe that Gillian’s final Sunday with us will be 13th September, just over 6 weeks away! She will then be preparing to begin training for ordination at Cranmer Hall in Durham.
As we now begin preparing to say our farewells it seems fitting that someone who has worked so hard over the years to help make Café Church happen should be our guest. Gillian will be telling us a little about her journey so far and her hopes (and fears!) for the future. In anticipation of this she has chosen a selection of hymns with special meaning to her and the words are attached.
Café Church will be streamed from St Mary’s church and the Zoom link is shown below. You are welcome to sign in at any time from 3:30pm, suitably equipped with plentiful supplies of coffee and cake!
If you would like to attend in person you will be most welcome (although as I hope you will appreciate, no refreshments can be served). Please observe the precautions which will be advised to you as you enter the church in order to keep yourself and others safe. In line with government advice, you may wish to wear a face covering. This is primarily to protect others, not the wearer, but is not to be considered a replacement for maintaining physical distancing and care over hand hygiene.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday afternoon.
